Oldfield_Park Posted March 27, 2011 Share Posted March 27, 2011 According to Parkin's Mk1 book, the last scheduled service to be formed of Mk1 suburbans was the 18:48 arrival at Royston from Kings Cross on Friday 30th September 1977. I think that they would have been taken out of service pretty promptly after that. I would imagine that withdrawls had been taking place steadily since the earlier 1970s. I travelled on a railtour from Moorgate to Lenwade many moons ago and the coaches were basically brown!
