00 Track Comparison

It's been a while! Amazed how long it takes to turn a new room into a usable space - painting, flooring, shelves, heating, workbench, lighting - together with the usual demands of family life...

So here we are with a bit of new activity before the layout proper gets under way. The shots below show three types of 00 track: Peco streamline code 75 flat bottom, the new Peco code 75 bullhead, and C&L flexi track.

The ballast looks over scale to me. Which do you think looks best? :scratchhead:

If I am correct I think the C&L one. (RHS top pic)
I like the spacing and sleeper width.

Frankly, it depends what time period you want to model. If its an era with bullhead track, then both the C and L and the new peco look great. DCC concepts also has a stainless steel version as well. Modern era stuff means that flat bottom is completely viable, but frankly I think the sleepers on the peco are too close together. Overall I would go with the bullhead.
