Hello All.

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself before I start on the real entries.

I'm Adam (agrwobsession) from just outside Birmingham.

I've been modelling for a few years now, still consider myself a newcomer though. Most of my previous projects have been fairly amateur but they were fun nevertheless. My last layout (an N gauge 10' by 1' shelf layout) was my first attempt at serious modelling, and I actually found the demands of 'realistic' modelling more rewarding. I took this layout to its natural conclusion and decided to plan my next.

I've been planning this new project for 6 months or so, taking in the considerations of limited space due to downsizing in the next couple of months and portability as I'd eventually like to get it on the local exhibition circuit.

A General Overview:

Size: 5' 10 by 9" - in order to fit on a windowsill whilst at home.

Gauge: N

Layout: BLT shunting puzzle - with a reduced passenger service and mainly used for goods, overall with a fairly run down feel.

I'm considering LMS region around the late 50's.

I hope that others will find this project of interest, and I will no doubt be looking for advice several times.... (a day).

Later today I'll post pictures of my completed baseboard, 90% completed track laying, a track plan, and maybe my electrics if I'm feeling brave.

Thanks

Hi Adam - welcome aboard from a fellow Brummie (ex-pat now living in Ireland).

This sounds like a really interesting project. No need for bravery with any subject, just post away. All the modelers at RMweb are only too happy to help fellow members - and don't forget advice bounces both ways. Looking forward to the pictures.

Regards

Mike
