The inside.

OK. Lets look at the interior. On the 117s and other WR units, so I understand, the seats were covered in what was probably the same as in Mk1 coaches. Maroon for 2nd class and deep blue for 1st. I have used Citadel(Games Workshop) Scab Red for 2nd and Regal Blue for 1st. As for the rest of the inside, I have used Bleached Bone for the formica covered walls and Revell Leather for doors. The floor was done with Tamiya Deck Tan, although this will hardly be seen from outside.

The headrest have been left the original plastic colour as these were tan vinyl in 2nd.. The seat ends were also formica, so these were painted as they show through the windows. Hardly the most professional painting job, but by the time it's populated it will hardly show.

Looking pretty good JZ . The red for the 2nd Class seats looks good (the material was different from that used in MK1 coaches) although the 'leatherette' type finish originally also went round the front of the seat squab as well as the headrest. If you're doing them in original livery - I think I've lost track of your intentions there - you'r not quite right on partitions and doors as they were all covered in the fake wood-grain Formica.

As for the 1st the seat covering etc colour you have is far too light - the original (very early re-design of the seat squabs period, blue was much darker and the carpet matched as far as I can recall.

Hope this helps a bit.

The blue is lightened by the flash, it looks darker in natural light and more so with the body on. Thanks for the info on the partitions and the headrests. The partitions and doors I will repaint with a lighter and slightly more yellow colour. I'll probably leave the floor as it can hardly be seen from outside and less so with a few pax inside.
