Trackwork

It's been a while since I posted any updates here so, dear reader, I can assure you that progress, although slow is not non-existant. A couple of weekends ago Mike Randall and I spent a few days with Peter Clark in Southwold, and we produced a novel portable test track, of which more details will be released later, My one has to have the tracks laid on i,. but Peter's was completed with N standard, N (shinohara code 40 fine), 2mm Finescale, and NN3 tracks laid and wired.

Maxstoke's trackwork is progressing well, with the station end of the loop siding laid, the crossover at the north end is complete, and today the intervening track was laid using PCB sleepers and Blackburn chairs. I've not uploaded any pictures this time, but will do so when I have decided on the TOU and fabricated and installed them.

Tracklaying was interuppted around lunchtime today by an inproptu flying display of a DC3 'Dakota' in WWII D day markings flying low over Market Harborough. Where it was going to I have no idea, but it was very low and impressive. All rather put into context by the sad news of the death of a pilot following a vintage aircraft crash ( de Havilland 'Hummingbird') at a flying display at Shuttleworth this morning.
