Having a stab at EM 18.2mm. Ive converted a Bachmann OBA. With those awful bogie/single axle arrangements.
Chopped off the centre, glued the axle boxes below the leaf springs and added the wheels once they were pulled out, using a pair of pliers.

Once the glue had dried, they can be tested.
Also, this process lowers the 'ride height' as they are a little high.
Whilst the wheels are removed they can be weathered.

i've been working on converting a Farish 150/1 from Northern Rail livery into First Great Western purple/pink.
by scrubbing away the 'northern stars' and smoothing with fine sand paper, i then painted the passenger doors pink, and allowed to dry, after this the foot steps were painted a dark yellow, headlight clusters painted into black. then weathered using humbrol liquid poly and a mix of brown weathering powders, the battery boxes were given a wet-look by using
