This was the state of play on Saturday night. Now, those of you who have been following this blog will probably be able to guess what happens next ......

I then got a bit of help in painting the ground while she was avoiding getting her hair dried

A bit more weathering and the starts of building up some rubble brought us to here

There is still plenty to do but is now presentable which is my main aim at the moment with time getting short. Then got some more help from the contents of the kitchen cupboard to get it planted on the layout

As it has lost all the tiles are you going to scatter lots around, and inside?

Looks very convincing.

I do like your 'extreme weathering' technique!  It's good to see the model on the workbench, since it reminds one of the scale - so often it's hard to remember whether photos are 2mm, 4mm, 7mm, or whatever.

Are you going to tell us the embarrassing details of where you found your camera  :)

The tiles are a bit of a problem. So far my best solution is cutting suitably coloured paper drinking straws in half but am tempted by trying to cut individual pantiles from a Redutex sheet. I found an interesting photo the other day of a building caught in the act of being blown up during the German retreat to the Hindenberg line. The roof tiles were flying off in all directions and certainly explains the lack of them in most pictures, it would however suggest that not many would land inside the building.

Building each model on its own base of foamboard is a great idea as it makes them far more accessible and easy to handle when making and very easy to instal once finished.

As to the camera - lurking in a (since removed!), pile of junk, papers and toys under my desk - little person denies all knowledge but I have my suspicions!
