As some of you may know The Severn Valley Railway is pretty much at the bottom of my garden and although the distance between the rails is a bit more than I prefer it still attracts my interest and of little Iz as it is nearest place to get an ice cream which is the normal bribe for dragging her down there to look at trains again. To make up for all those ice creams I was on my way to the gym this morning but got rather distracted by this;

Unfortunately I only had my phone with what looks like a steamed up lens but worth sharing. This is bit of traffic chaos is due to the steam gala this weekend but plenty of action already as a quick visit later on proved.

While at work I have been lucky enough a couple of times to see locos going up or down Comberton Hill on lowloaders. The most impressive was when a Deltic went past the shop, you forget just how big they are until you see one on a lorry! :D

I'll have to pop and have a look on my way to The Weavers tonight. I did pass 1501 on the back of a lowloader a fortnight ago on my way back from work.

Ah! My wife reported a 'big black engine' on her way back from work as well. No further details could be extracted so it must have been 1501 then.

Just to add some context to above two comments - a bit further down the hill is the Weavers which I hesitate to call a pub as it is one of a very welcome new breed of watering hole set up in a retail unit but very cosy, no music, no fizzy beer just real stuff and cider and the odd malt. Just a little bit further down is Footplate Models which has expanded nicely into it's new premises having moved across the road  - not open on Wednesdays though which always catches me out as it did today!
