First run

Had a mammoth 9 hour session today.   Legs were constructed, final wiring tweaks and faults sorted - still some minor tweaking required and the top loop needs to be done but for now we have two running loops and a fully operational shuttle.       Fiddle yard needed some major tweaks before it would work       Resolved the problem with the shuttle signal but then found a problem with the green LED so I'll replace it during the next session     We were testing on a slope - n

Control Panel

I decided that I wanted my own, bespoke control panel to work the new layout and that it should compliment it in its appearance.   I wanted to keep the wiring to a minimum and use dpdt switches to work the points, one side of the switch to work the points and the other to work the indicators on the control panel. New 3 rail layout construction progress - part one (March to May)

I built a 3 rail layout on individual boards, primarily for personal use but it ended up being exhibited on several occasions.   It started showing its age, the boards began to warp and trains started to derail and uncouple, so my brother suggested we build a new, smaller layout and add some scenery.   We started work in March 2014.   The previous layout, at 16ft by 10ft was a bit of a monster and I wanted a layout where I could operate it and observe the entire layout from one position.
