Gaugemaster vs NEC

Clubroom afternoon, spent some time experimenting with the Gaugemaster controller setup. This seems to be becoming something of a club project now, next step is to reconfigure the wiring so the Gaugemaster and NEC spreads can be swapped over by changing plugs on the track power wires.

Interesting comparison. Personally I prefer the Gaugemaster on first acquaintance, the larger, backlit display is easier to read. Flicking straight from loco to loco with no fussing about with "recall" is handy, and the large dial is more sensitive than the thumb wheel.

Doesn't seem to be an "escape" button, which is a minus; haven't yet worked out the volume control for loco sound although F1, F2 and F8 are the same. F0 is headlight on/off

So presently it's Gaugemaster by a short head although I still need to work out some of the functions

Wiring completed, tested and deemed good! There is now a proposal to wire up the N and O Gauge running tracks for DCC as well..
