Sunday evening tv...

Just had a hour or two watching tv. I do enjoy watching actual programmes when I'm home, provided (a) no one rushes about shouting and (b) no manic driving and gunplay.

More authentic frontier gibberish from Matt and team, the incomprehensible Scottish sheep-breeder explaining about breeding sheep for worm resistance was a minor gem, the badgers eating £3000 worth of wine grapes were rather good and the Syrian refugee woman breeding whatever-it-was in Lancashire was... very BBC.

I'm another £1.50 up on Strictly, my wife INSISTS on backing Ed Balls to go out in the dance-off (its rather touching, the way she clings to the belief that it's a competition) ... anyway I got 50p each for both couples and another 50p for the loser, predicted before any of the contestants took the floor..

I've offered her folding money on Ed Balls going out in the last 5, the logic of it seems inescapable.

Who saw Len Goodman's grimace when the second dance-off couple was announced? He obviously thought he was off camera...

Isn't the latest from David Attenborough gorgeous? That man has more programme making ability than the entire Discovery Channel put together. The BBC showing, again, how technically brilliant it can be when it wants to.

I never watch BBC World when I'm travelling, indeed I don't know anyone who does, and their rugby coverage at present is embarrassingly deficient, but Sunday evening is BBC time when I'm home.
