Xmas music
Christmas always includes something you would never have thought of but works out really well, and this year it was Radio 3... my good wife has a truly, deeply awful 1970s medley which she plays incessantly on "shuffle" in the kitchen, quite loud, when I'm away or when major projects like Xmas pud are in hand.
It used to be a CD but now it's on the iplayer and has become something of a menace, a long way up the "oh, FFS" scale; not quite level with blocked gutters on a rainy day when the 6N is on, but definitely heading that way.
While my daughter was here, Charlie the hound was becoming a bit TOO boisterous so she put on Radio 3 (which he apparently has as a backing track when he's left alone for any reason). I took the opportunity to remove the power lead for the iplayer (a sufficient gambit, given my wife's "black box" attitude to anything much more complex than a box of matches). I won't say it wasn't noticed, but experience shows that she doesn't realise there are several interchangeable leads around the house, the general relief at the suspension of "Mums music" could be felt, and she actually quite liked the choral music on R3.
There's a suggestion to give her the iplayer lead back as a New Years present, but so far the Noes have it..
