Fen End Pit - Progress on plant

Fen End Pit

Note, that is plant (singular) rather than plants (plural), this isn't about sticking on more stringy grass even though there has been a bit of that too.

The whole of the 'works' end of Fen End Pit has been rebuilt so this means I need to reinstall all the working sand processing plant, the tipping area, conveyor and revolving screen all needed reworking. The redesign makes the baseboard slightly wider so I decided to turn the revolving screen around by 90 degrees. Previously both the screen and conveyor were powered from the same old AMR controller but this was way past its prime and another thing to carry about with the layout. Now, as each baseboard has a 12v DC supply for the MERG CBUS, I decided to purchase some cheap Sodial Chinese adjustable voltage regulators £3.34 from Amazon. One powers the conveyor and the other the screen and I can adjust the speed of each separately.

I've had to rework most of the cat walks to suit the new positions and, dare I admit, paint bits which weren't previously visible. I've still got to remake the wash plant this is just in position to show how it will look roughly.

I quite like the way that the works looks busier than it did, I think the engine shed finishes off the scene well. I added a 'lean-to' on the end of the shed which would house a small workbench, possibly I'll add a flue for a small stove, It might even get an internal partition and a toilet (luxury!)

The headshunt is now a bit of a squeeze down the side of the shed but looks suitable industrial.
