I have just started to scratch build Penzance Signal Box out of plasticard/ plastic section etc.. This is a break from rolling stock as i have no layout at present. At the mo i have marked out the plastic sheet (inner skin )and brick sides (lower part of the box). When i have completed this i will take some pics. The signal box will, when finished will be illuminated. Right off to do some more work on it. Rob

O gauge workbench.....Motorail flat up-date

Here are some pics of the progress so far on my second Motorail flat. I still have some work to do but it is nearly finished. The work to do consists of wheel choc's to be made and fitted, NOT TO BE LOOSE SHUNTED transfers to be added (to both flats) and a tail-light as this flat has a dropped buckeye because it will be the end of the rake. .I hope to do some work over the christmas break on the third flat. The rest of the rake will consist of 2x FO and 2x FK,these will be Easybuild Mk1's (not y

This is the motorail flat ( my 2nd of 3 to scratch build). I have tried to show the general construction with these pics. I have done most of the underframe detail except the brake levers. The only other thing i have to do is paint it ,then i can add the Motorail signs, chocs and of course CARS . also i 've got to fit the buckeye couplings as well.     These last two pics are the BG and as you can see it's not started yet. I hope to do a little work on this this weekend. This will be dril

Here are a few pics of the small amount of progress.     These are the Ian Kirk siphon G . I have plated over the planking and re-planked the doors and ends with vertical planking. As you can see there is still a long way to go but you get the general idea.     This is the Westdale GUV. The body is just about ready for primer. The underframe is also not far off complete. I think only the dynamo belt to solder on. The pics show it with underframe and bogies, however these ar

I have done a little work on my second motorail flat and hopefully post some pics over the weekend . I will also post some pics of my syphon g so far. This i have had to alter as i made a big mistake in the purchase of it. Just concentrating on it being inside frame i forgot to look whether it was vertical or horizontal planking . Guess what i got the wrong one horizontal instead of vertical . After some research i found i could alter the doors and plate over the rest like W1325. This vehicle w

OK, Since i seemed to have deleted my blog for some unknown reason (havent got a clue how i managed that ) i will start again.   Firstly i know i'm going to repeat myself for a short while but it's just to get back on the same thread, so please bear with me.   This is a picture of D1018 Western Buccaneer with engine and boiler (theatres) fitted.   Here is a close up of the engine/boiler theatres before i fitted them to the other side. As you can see these were made with various pieces

PZ Signal Box up-date

These are the next few pics of progress. They show the first stages of painting the brickwork. I have given the mortar its first coat and the bricks have had the first stage. Next will be a slightly different shade of brick colour. This will be done several times to create the different colour/texture of the bricks. Once this has been done then i will give the mortar a slightly different texture at various places , so that it is not a uniform colour. Then i will paint the concrete lintels. Once

These are a few of the first stages of painting the brick work. I have done the mortar and the first covering of brick. This will be repeated several times to (hopefully) create to right look for the different colours of brick. Once i have done this i will then add a different colour/texture to the mortar in various places. Then i will paint the concrete lintels.   Rob
