Some viaduct pictures

Time for a bit of playing. I have been working on getting couplings sorted out but it does strain the eyes so a bit of scenic messing about around the viaduct makes a pleasant change.

Taking pics doesn’t half show up all the rough bits that need a second or third going over. Its also a bit difficult to get a picture of, really how do you get nine feet of track in focus? Not joking, really if you know how then tell me.

Anyway , here they are with a few bits added to make a scene.

That looks fantastic, an amazing structure and scene. And what is more perfect than a Clyde Puffer. :)

Tsk... there's a Midland van there, but no D299 5-plank open. I do like a decent length goods train - at least 22 on there.

Heh, a D299 is on my TTD list since there appears to be a lot of reference material now available. Many thanks compound.

The van is I think slaters, I built a few of their kits back when they still did them.

That train is a bit posed, 24wagons in total. The practical limit is going to be 20 given the traverser length. However I was pleased that the 498 built many moons ago from a Caley coaches kit handles it comfortably, even managing to push the whole lot backwards through pointwork.

Wonderful, Dave - even better than I had imagined it when you first came up with the idea.

The three levels (water, dock, viaduct) really work well together I think, plus there's the 3D depth added beneath the viaduct and bridge. And finally the curve makes it all look like a railway in the landscape, even though there is no landscape! Taking notes...

Beautifully conceived scenics!  Lots of scope for under-the-arches scenes as well.  No need for a backscene with foreground interest like this :)

Good point Mike.

I had to come back for another view - the trains are rather nice too!
