A backscene in place

Well there we are, a backscene in place. I’m not completely happy with it but it is just pictures stuck to cardboard and I can look to improvements over time. Taking a break from it and thinking about it while standing back from it all and running some trains is more likely to inspire me to better things than flogging on with it at the moment.

The mirror across the end does give a feeling of depth. Again I think I’ll leave it there for now, if it begins to look wrong I could try and generate some backscene for the end. It is just clipped in place, easily removed.

Posts and so on are actually straighter and leveller than they look in the pics, the camera has done its distortion thing a bit.

Anyway with the long nights upon us I think I fancy sitting down and doing some stuff at the workbench.

I think it looks very good indeed. I'm a big fan of the mirror at the end and will be doing the same with Bricklayers Arms. I agree with Knuckles, the street scene with the figures and carriages is spot on. Great job.

Fantastic scenes Dave. The backscene really adds to the atmosphere. The full front one is particularly convincing of course, but the low angled ones work too I think.

I was just looking back at your earliest posts, what a development it's been since the "bare bones" stage. I was wondering how it's all connected by the way, i.e. the viaduct and station? Apologies if I have missed it.

Oh , it just swings round past the goods shed onto the viaduct boards. Eventually the signal box will be over there and some sort of lightweight board to sweep the view round the corner. Not quite sure yet, I'll maybe do a mockup and squint at things.
