Bakewell station lights

I have had a bit of spare time recently to add some extra touches to the Bakewell station project, Having purchased some LMS style swan neck lamps from DCC concepts, I decided to make a start fitting them to the layout. The lamps are extremely high quality and come in a bulk pack of 6 free standing platform lights and 2 wall lights. Each is supplied with a mini resister which 2 micro wires are soldered onto, then the 9-12V DC power supply is fed to each resistor in turn. I used a Guagemaster WM4 DC adaptor to supply the power and fed the wire through to supply the accessories like my main power bus on the rest of the layout.

The station now looks the part to match the autumnal dark evenings we are now experiencing. In due course I will be adding station interior lights although I have already wired in the flickering fireplaces.

The photos show the effect I am achieving. It looks even more effective when I run my 9F through the station with glowing firebox!

The next stage is to supply signage on the station which will be covered by a future entry on my blog.
