St. Simon's Workbench - Transfers on!

Hi Guys,   I managed to get the transfers I need for the Horse Box at Ally Pally on Saturday, varnished it on Sunday and spent a relaxing half an hour putting them on (while watching Tornado on Top Gear!):     I've think I've got the numbers in the wrong place, plus I've managed to mislay the wheels!   Whilst I was at it, I put the transfers on the two Shingle Train wagons, the numbers I've put on aren't in the pool list I have, but they are the closest I had! I haven't made the 'sea

St. Simon's Workbench - Horse Box Painted

Hi Guys,   I've finally got round to painting the Horse box in the past couple of days, just got to paint the underframe and put some transfers on!     I'll see if I can get some Transfers at Ally Pally tomorrow.   On the Shingle Train front, two of the wagons need transfers (as you can see in the first photo, top left), so they'll hopefully be brought tomorrow as well. I'll be making the 'Sealed Door' Transfers myself, unless I do find someone that makes them! I'll be getting the res

St. Simon's Workbench - GWR Horse Box

Hi Guys,   Here's the picture of the Horse box as promised. These were taken before primer was sprayed. The red masking tape is protecting the glazing (hopefully!):     Now the roof is masked off, so I need to get some GWR Chocolate colour and some transers now!   Comments welcome   Simon

St. Simon's Workbench - GWR Horsebox

Hi,   Recently all has gone quite on the workbench front, but there has been doing things on the Horsebox.   The Horsebox has now been built and I've just been out to the painting booth (aka cardboard box in the garage!) to prime it.   I'll post pictures later, when I can be bothered to hook up the camera!   Simon

St. Simon's Workbench - GWR Horse Box

Hi,   With work on the shingle train progressing slowly (in fact not progressing at all!), I have started on a different project, a Parkside Dundas GWR Horse Box. This was won in the Grand Draw at Wycrail09 by a friend of a friend at the High Wycombe and District Model Railway Society. The guy who won it didn't want it so it was bought back to the club and given to myself.   I have knocked up the body tonight (to relax me about the two GCSE science exams I have on Thursday!) and so far it's

St. Simons Workbench - Shingle Train

Hi,   Work on the Shingle Train is progressing, but very slowly, the secound wagon has been constructed and is waiting to be painted along with the other wagon   For those who don't know what the shingle train is, here's a brief explaination:   One of the most important freight flows for the New Romney Branch in Kent was Shingle from the vast shingle banks of Dungeness & Lydd. These were conveyed in a fleet of modified LNER designed, Steel bodied, 13t Open Wagons (otherwise known as Hi
