Hi Mason,

For the Hornby 47 youll need to do alot of work to get it up to todays standards. The things youll need to do will be add V airiels, and pending on which 47 you want to model, getting rid of the Cowled bufferbeam and replace it with a "cut away" type.

Next youll need to replace the underframe tanks with the correct type, research will show which one youre chosen prototype will have. Also pending on how far you want to go wit hthe detailing, you can add the various pipes and a screw link as well replacign the buffers with either white metal ones or turned brass. A quick option is to add the Craftsman Detailing kit for this model if you can get hold of one

thants excellent, does sound like alot of work but i think it will be worth it in the end, do craftsman not do the kit anymore???

There are still some about, but some places have stopped selling it, but id Say Shawplan and Hurst models are the best places to go for detailing parts 47 wise.
