Class 58s finished

As an interlude between body and chassis on my GW 47xx build I have cracked on with finishing the class 58s.

The first job was to refit the door handrail plates to 58047 on EWS, all of which are now glued in place finishing the loco for now. Eventually I may do some further work on this loco, it was originally intended to be my other favourite Class 58 58050 and May still get a renunber. I am also tempted to repaint the grills as per the Mainline example as part of the weathering.

Back to 58015, the model has now been reassembled with its glazing etc (although I can’t remember where I put the cab interiors). The transfers have been added to the cabsides and ends and it is now assembled complete for the first time in 10 years! I’m now 90% certain I will be keeping the loco, to the point that I’ve been trying to work out where some spare P4 wheels are to get it converted.

Still not found evidence of a 58 west of the Tamar Bridge other than railtours, but it can run on both a virgin cross country set on the branch and on clay. Both seemed to have their share of unusual workings over the yearsblogentry-54-0-11787900-1517735943_thumb.jpegblogentry-54-0-86901000-1517735950_thumb.jpeg
