Firstly my apologies to all of those who noticed the naffness of the photos in my last post. It was only later that I realised that the camera was set to something like ISO 1600 . Sorry!
This weekend I had an enjoyable Sunday at Shipley show where there were some excellent layouts in a variety of scales; very nice. The traders were a bit of a letdown, but that's the way it goes sometimes. I came away with a couple of book, one on North Eastern sheds and the various locos thereon and one on the lines in East Yorkshire; both very useful books.
During the week I made a start on the walkway for the coal drops. I was at a slight disadvantage having no good photos to work from and also hindered somewhat by the curve. Using various photos of other NE drops, I finally made some progress that I was happy with. Panels of plastic sheet were scribed to give the plank effect and then rubbed with wet and dry to give some impression of woodiness.
Today, with an odd hour to spare, I finished the said walkway and added a handrail fabricated from microstrip. Whilst waiting for that to fully set before painting, I took the model outside to take some (hopefully better!) photos:
A week on Saturday is 2mm AGM at Bournmoor. Brafferton will be there, so if you're an Association member, come along and have a play!
