a little off topic but while sorting a 00 gauge "trainset" for the grandkids i had a bargan off EBay

5 Hornby LMS coaches for a tenner.

 

they arrived friday morning and when un packed they turn out to be made of tin !!! errr i think i got a deal there now just need to value them and sell them on . any ideas ? they have buckeye cuplings and are labelled made in liverpool

Hornby Dublo Coaches. They can fetch reasonable amounts of cash, but it may be worth keeping them for a while and seeing where the market goes.

I only made about 2-5 pounds on my Dublo MK1's but they were common ones. I would look at the underside and see if there is a model number then put that in google to get a rough value. If not boxed mint I would say you got them at a fair price but you will be unlikely to make a big profit on them.

Alternatively put a barrier vehicle in, with tension locks on one end and Dublo coupling on the other, then run them. Check they run through your point work first. They are good and robust and suit kids well.
