THE LOFT IS CLEAR!!

Thanks to a lot of help from SWMBO we've now sorted out all our stuff up there and it's now turned into a rather nice modelling room :D

This is where the layout will go, the stuff beneath it will be organised a little better before the baseboards are put in situ.

There's also room for Dunbracken to have a new home up there.

And all my modelling/railway books and magazines.

Finally room to put down a full sized trackplan. This is as much of the layout that I could fit into the image short of climbing out of the velux window!

Station board.

Town board, I think this will be my favourite part of the layout with the waves rolling into the wall and rocks. The building protruding out from the coastline is the harbour office.

Quay board showing the beginnings of the yard. With the stabling shed located behind the start of the run round loop.

Yard board showing the cannery at the front and the tunnel mouth as the exit to the fiddle yard. I've tried to minimise reverse curves, but I can't see a way to do away with those that allow access to the goods shed and engine shed unfortunately, unless anyone has any suggestions? Space is limited, and the points drawn are intended to be mainline ones, so the curves should be gentle.

I think I can get away with using the mainline points for everything, but the point to enter the quay and the one for the two sidings on the quay may need to be the cray track 12" ones. I am going to buy some mainline points at ExpoNG this coming weekend to double check everything fits as planned, then i'm off to B&Q shortly after.

The only downer, I clearly need to come up with a much better system for transporting more than one cup of tea up the ladder!

You do indeed, I stayed there this February to climb Tryfan to test out my ice axe! Going back again this coming February for my stag do. Great place.

I thought the Ice Axe mounted on the wall was an indication of how difficult it is to get up there!
