Static test
I got the track laying as far as it can go for now with help from a friend today. All the main running lines are down now, apart from the section leading up to the tunnel, I will leave this until I have built the fiddle yard board. The only other sections are the line leading up to the turntable, I will begin designing the components of the T/T soon, and the front line on the mineral quay as it will be raised above normal track level on metal beams and columns.
Having laid all the track I decided to plonk some stock on it to see how it would look when operating...
An overview of the entire layout as it stands now:
The railcar leaving the station and then passing through the yard on it's way to Broadford:
The large tank arriving from Broadford with a passenger train whilst one of the Skye Marble Co. trains is shunted on the quay:
The same train a little further round the curve, I think this view will become one of my favourites when all the scenery is added!
The mineral quay with a marble train (front line here will be raised):
Another of my favourite views, the train passing in front of the town along the top of the seawall:
The railcar standing in the shorter platform road:
A passenger train waiting to depart from the long road to Broadford:
