"Two dogs?" I hear your say!

 

The two "Dogs" concerned here are these K's white metal kits.

 

A GWR "Bulldog" Class loco

This is not mine, I am building this kit for a client, and this is my very first commission job!

Work will commence very shortly on this one as it needs a lot doing to it. No motor or gears have been supplied with the kit so I shall have to buy in a motor/gears for it.

 

The second "Dog" is mine and it's a DUKEDOG! :RO

 

This is how it arrived from the seller on Ebay.

The kit has been part built and painted to a reasonable standard. How ever the chassis of both loco and tender need work doing to them.

It has also been painted in GWR green with a 32xx brass number plate (not attached thank god)

My model will finish up as 9021 in BR black and top feed boiler. Unless I bottle out and leave the boiler as it is and number it 9017.

 

Watch this blog for regular (?) update on progress of the two "Old Dogs"!

I suspect the seller of the Dukedog on ebay thought: "Good thing this bloke doesn't know there's a new Dukedog coming out RTR soon. No doubt he's a complete newcomer to railway modelling who knows nothing about Dukedogs" ;-)

I am not surprised you have a commission considering the quality of your work. For me in the period I model Dukes and Dogs are not together. I already have a Bulldog and two Dukes to build but another Dog (or perhaps a Bird wouldn't be amiss). So I shall be keeping an eye on this.
