Dukedog

Progress on Morfa Bach has been slow to stop just lately, I have realised that the original plan (not drawn to scale) was going to turn out a little bit too cramped, so, I am having a rethink on the buildings.

The track plan is not going to change though in fact I am toying with the idea of introducing a narrow gauge (009) line to exchange with the standard gauge siding. (Nothing definite about that yet so it may or may not happen.)

The bridge keepers cottage will be staying as will the short platform halt. The gangers house though will probably be consigned to the recycle bin!

I found this old barn that I built some time ago from a Wills kit, and thought I might incorporate this instead.

I built this kit for an old layout (llaffan) but never used it. So it has come out of the recycle bin to be used on Morfa Bach.

Built more or less how Wills intended apart from the corrugated iron roof which still needs some work doing to tone down the glare of the artists acrylic paints I used for the rust base colour.

I have pictures in books of a very similar structure on the Cambrian coast line being used as a permanent way hut, but I don't think it will be used as such on Morfa Bach.

I hope to get some more work done on the baseboard this week and all being well will update again soon.

Cheers for now.

Nice work Frank.

Maybe a coat of black would look right on the roof, a lot of corrugated seems to be covered in some kind of tar?
