Comet H26 12 wheel restaurant part 4: fixing the height

As previously discussed, I made quite an error on this coaches ends soldering the brackets too low.

Fortunately I hadn't got round to soldering the bracket to the sides so there was just the one joint to break. Once unsoldered and then cleaned up I flipped them upside down, clamped with some hair clips and soldered in place. Spacers will be used to get the floor to the correct height (although the headstocks are doing a good job on their own.

The headstocks also needed unsoldering and refitting at the correct height.

Here is the corrected coach, after a little playing with the bogie height (next to a Hornby Collett to provide a reference)

Now this is sorted I need to get the underframe finished along with the end and roof detail. Buffers are first on the list tomorrow night in order to finish setting up the ride height (I want to take it with me to the Sodbury club to test on Tuesday week). The second job is sorting out the gas tanks which are too long to fit between the solebars (of course i find out after flying and filling all six...)
