Another job that I have been putting off is the tanks for my Comet H26.
The castings comet supply are rather poor, the centre casting is too long and the ends too wide.

 

Based on the photos in Russel there is a large gap between the two banks of 3 tanks, as the comet parts come they don't even fit between the posts.

 

I modified the tanks replacing the centre casting with plastic tube (with the rule benefits of reducing the weight and being easier to cut.
The ends themselves were modified removing material from the base to enable them to be glued together.

 

It's still a long way off being perfect, and one day I want to replace with something to scale (a good candidate for 3D printing) but it will so for now. When I get back from Madrid I will fill and sand the joints and glue in position (along with the remaining missing parts
