A wartime 4500

Over the weekend I picked up a reasonable priced Bachmann 4500 (with decoder fitted) which arrived today. Unfortunately the TCS decoders as fitted in the cab, so has been chopped out and will be replaced with a smaller zimo chip (with the TCS decoder a good fit in the boiler of my 42xx)
The intention in buying another 4500 was after seeing a photo of 4547 in period which appeared to be in wartime black.
The model was dismantled to seperate body from footplate, remove the cab roof and to remove the saddle. The GWR logo was then removed with thinners (along with the oversized number plates and buffer beam numbers.). Before applying filler to the porthole windows and removing the cab glazing. Finally the loco was given a coat of satin black (Halfords) and was reassembled once dry.
It now needs new GWR logos, weathering (at least to tone down the smokebox) and etched plates (the latter probably not for a while until I'm ready to order plates for a few more locos.
