20 April 2024 09:00 Until 21 April 2024 16:00
0*** PLEASE NOTE*** - WE ARE MOVING ONE MONTH INTO APRIL!!!!!!
Macclesfield Model Railway Group's 2024 Exhibition will be held over the weekend of:
Saturday 20th APRIL and Sunday 21st APRIL 2024
Further details of Exhibitors and Traders will appear here in due course, but for now, please make a note that we are moving the Exhibition one month to 20th and 21st APRIL 2024
This is primarily down to Easter being early in 2024, but also to continue the long tradition of etiquette amongst Exhibition Managers and therefore trying not to hold our show on the same weekend as anyone else, we're moving from our usual end of March date, one calendar month to April.
Cheers for now
Andy

0Our annual Spring open day is back for 2024. A chance to come and visit us at our home – Keen House – and see some of our layouts in operation and what we have to offer prospective members – and if you like you can join us on the day at a special rate.
Full details and any updates at : https://www.themodelrailwayclub.org/?p=27815
In operation will be our N gauge layout “Lacey Dale“, alongside our OO gauge layout “Ingatestone” that is under construction – but nearing completion.
There’s a chance to visit our newly refurbished library, and we’ll have some of our other layout groups represented with demos and a chance to meet them and see if you’d like to get involved.
Our pre-owned shop will be open, with a range of bargains, and we expect to have a number of prototype models from manufactures to look at on our test tracks.
Plus our bar will be open with a variety of drinks, snacks and sandwiches
Entry is free, although children under 18 should be accompanied by an adult, and donations are welcomed.
We are just a few minutes walk from King’s Cross / St Pancras rail and tube stations, and not far from Caledonian Road and Barnsbury on the Overground (Mildmay) line. Plus a variety of buses stop closer by, including 73, 91, 205, 214, 259, 274 and 476. Use your preferred app or visit Plan a journey – Transport for London (tfl.gov.uk)
And if you do want to drive, parking is free in the local side streets on Sundays and we’re outside the Congestion Charge.
Please note there are stairs to all rooms. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance so we can advice and support your visit.

Hillingdon Railway Modellers - Test Track Open Day
By Solderpete,
The refreshments are pretty good too.
-
Lincoln district model railway exhibition
By Dagworth,
Layouts were a mix of entertaining fiction through to well researched models of real places and places that had previously had railways but modelled as though those lines had survived the Beeching cull. A good mix of steam era and more modern diesel content too. One exhibit showed the true definition of a tail chaser, the train missing it's own tail by about 2 millimetres.
I was there helping with a layout presented as a work in progress that got quite a lot on interest showing how a layout was built.
A good social and meal on the Saturday evening in a local pub added to a great all-round weekend.
The show was VERY busy both days!
My thanks to the organising club and to @Clive Mortimore for letting me be his wingman for the weekend
