07 July 2018
Event Name: FestiRail Model Railway Exhibition
Classification: Exhibition
Address: Community Centre(adjacent to Springs swimming pool), Wades Park, Stratton Road, Princes Risborough, Bucks, HP27 9AX
Day 1: 7th of July 2018
Opening times Day 1: 11.00am - 4.00pm
Prices: FREE
Disability access: Yes
Car parking: No
Website: http://www.rdmrc.org.uk
Organising body: Risborough & District Model Railway Club
The whole of the Community Centre is taken over for one day as part of the Princes Risborough Town Festival Week. Allowing the Club to display various model making demonstrations, along with a number of layouts to include, Okehampton (O), Aylesbury Town (P4), Loughborough Road (OO), Ottilies (OO) and the Shunting Puzzle (O), plus please note we are proud to present the last ever full public showing of Geoff Williams’s iconic 1:76 scale Aylesbury LNWR layout. This fifty-five year old model of the former Aylesbury High Street station (once situated where Vale Park is today) represents faithfully the whole station complex - including engine shed, goods yard and adjoining gas works - as it would have looked in the year 1911. Built to a very high standard of realism the model achieves a convincing sense of scenic depth through the decreasing perspective of the background building, and provides a possibly the last opportunity to view a pre First World War scene of Aylesbury. Being originally built into Geoff’s loft the layout has since been adapted for public viewing, for its appearance at FestiRail, which it is anticipated will attract considerable interest both from local residents and from the wider exhibition-going public - particularly as this opportunity is un-likely to be repeated by the Club. Only disabled car parking places are available at the Community Centre, therefore all other visitors are required to park in the Mount Carpark in Stratton Road (Follow brown Leisure Centre signs to just past St. Mary's Church). Please note that this is pay and display. Half hourly bus service from Aylesbury or High Wycombe. 15 minute walk from Chiltern Railway station with regular trains from Birmingham, Banbury, Aylesbury or London Marylebone, 25 minutes drive from M40 Junction 6 via B4009. Light refreshments will be available.

20 April 2024 09:00 Until 21 April 2024 16:00
0*** PLEASE NOTE*** - WE ARE MOVING ONE MONTH INTO APRIL!!!!!!
Macclesfield Model Railway Group's 2024 Exhibition will be held over the weekend of:
Saturday 20th APRIL and Sunday 21st APRIL 2024
Further details of Exhibitors and Traders will appear here in due course, but for now, please make a note that we are moving the Exhibition one month to 20th and 21st APRIL 2024
This is primarily down to Easter being early in 2024, but also to continue the long tradition of etiquette amongst Exhibition Managers and therefore trying not to hold our show on the same weekend as anyone else, we're moving from our usual end of March date, one calendar month to April.
Cheers for now
Andy

0Our annual Spring open day is back for 2024. A chance to come and visit us at our home – Keen House – and see some of our layouts in operation and what we have to offer prospective members – and if you like you can join us on the day at a special rate.
Full details and any updates at : https://www.themodelrailwayclub.org/?p=27815
In operation will be our N gauge layout “Lacey Dale“, alongside our OO gauge layout “Ingatestone” that is under construction – but nearing completion.
There’s a chance to visit our newly refurbished library, and we’ll have some of our other layout groups represented with demos and a chance to meet them and see if you’d like to get involved.
Our pre-owned shop will be open, with a range of bargains, and we expect to have a number of prototype models from manufactures to look at on our test tracks.
Plus our bar will be open with a variety of drinks, snacks and sandwiches
Entry is free, although children under 18 should be accompanied by an adult, and donations are welcomed.
We are just a few minutes walk from King’s Cross / St Pancras rail and tube stations, and not far from Caledonian Road and Barnsbury on the Overground (Mildmay) line. Plus a variety of buses stop closer by, including 73, 91, 205, 214, 259, 274 and 476. Use your preferred app or visit Plan a journey – Transport for London (tfl.gov.uk)
And if you do want to drive, parking is free in the local side streets on Sundays and we’re outside the Congestion Charge.
Please note there are stairs to all rooms. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance so we can advice and support your visit.

Hillingdon Railway Modellers - Test Track Open Day
By Solderpete,
The refreshments are pretty good too.

Lincoln district model railway exhibition
By Dagworth,
Layouts were a mix of entertaining fiction through to well researched models of real places and places that had previously had railways but modelled as though those lines had survived the Beeching cull. A good mix of steam era and more modern diesel content too. One exhibit showed the true definition of a tail chaser, the train missing it's own tail by about 2 millimetres.
I was there helping with a layout presented as a work in progress that got quite a lot on interest showing how a layout was built.
A good social and meal on the Saturday evening in a local pub added to a great all-round weekend.
The show was VERY busy both days!
My thanks to the organising club and to @Clive Mortimore for letting me be his wingman for the weekend
