johnarcher
Does anyone know of decent 3mm scale figures, suitable for pre-WW2? Judging by the pictures the ones the Society sell are pretty crude castings, compared to good 4mm ones like Monty's. Preiser do some good 1:100 figures, but they all seem to be very modern. peter220950
It might be worth a trawl around the architectural model making suppliers, as 1:100 is a standard Architects drawing size, and their models are often a similar scale. Not necessarily WW2 but cheap and might produce a couple of suitable figures:- http://www.dorspring.co.uk/1_100_Scale/cat1486481_1985493.aspx http://www.amazon.co.uk/300/dp/B00EQ29CA2 Got to be worth a try at those prices. Peter PS. There's also the model boat sites, they might be the same figures, but again worth a Google around http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/tp_fittings.html
RMweb Premium NCB Posted August 7, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 7, 2015 Good question. I have the Preiser unpainted ones. I'm hoping that with a bit of modification and suitable painting I can backdate them to 1930s era. Slaters do some in their huminiatures range; I think they're intended to be railway personnel. I think the Society might have acquired some which were original done for Howard Love to use in his dioramas which may be better quality (the dioramas are superb), and which don't yet appear in the price list; an email to the shop would tell you.
