mac1960
Hi I am just in the process of starting to build / contract a layout based on Horton in Ribblesdale in N gauge. As I am not always in the UK the project is based more on project management, as I do not have the time when back in UK to under take the works and would like it to be in place before I retire ! Therefore the actual construction has been contracted out with building due to commence around December with completion around September 2016. I am under taking the research and photography as well as finding back ground information. With this in mind I am trying to find any information with regards traffic flows out and into Horton lime works during the mid 60,s which will be the period of the model, as I have been unable to find any hard info. There appears to be a lot of interest in the route on this forum, so I hope that some of you, who have shall we say dabbled in the S&C, may have come across the info I am looking for. The main line passenger services and freight I have already found out about and obtained details. The said loco,s and stock are already purchased detailed and weathered for most of these, but I am looking for details on the pick up goods. Any help / ideas / suggestions would be gratefully received. Mac

Fat Controller
From the latter two photos, it looks as though at least some traffic was conveyed on Conflat Ls, as per these:- http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/conflatl
mac1960
All Seem to missing the post of thanks I sent the other day, anyway thanks for photo's and links. I have a copy of Rails in the fells - S&C MODELERS BIBLE and about 30 others, but its good to get other photos and in sight from people on here as well. Especially when trying to build something as an accurate representation, rather than proto typical, as sometimes the area you need to know about is just out of all the pictures you have seen, eg the large concrete store building between the station and signal box on the southbound side at HIR. Neither locals or Rail track seem to know when it was built, but it looks like 1940 -50,s to me, any ideas ? The pick up freight does appear to be Conflats with Quicklime chests on board I think, unless anyone know,s differently, but can you get them in N gauge, the chests that is, as I have seen them in 00. Anyway thanks again, good to see some old 8f,s and Green fields as it 43c outside here at the moment (OMAN) Cheers Mac
