cornish trains jez
Good evening, The HST's were introduced into Cornwall in September 1979 and have been in service for nearly 36 years now and since introduction, there have been many colourful liveries applied to them, some liked and some not quite so much. They have undoubtedly been British Rail's most successful diesel locomotive and have been the backbone of long distance services to and from Cornwall. With the proposed introduction of new units, their days are very sadly numbered now, so I thought I would start a topic where we could all post some photos from the past, present and into the future, to pay a tribute to our much loved HST's. So just to kick it off, here are some of mine. First three taken at Par. 43197 at Liskeard heading for London. Best regards, Jeremy

brianusa
Soon it will be all lookalike world class trains that one can see in one shape or another the world over. The HSTs are a unique British design that will be missed in a sea of bland designs for the foreseeable future. Brian.

RMweb Gold The Pilotman Posted August 20, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 20, 2015 Has anyone got a photo of a GNER set at Newquay please? Ed I found three on Flickr using "Newquay HST" in the search tab. I'm sure there's one in one of John Vaughan's books too. It's in Cornish Railways, I think.
