We will have 3 ‘new’ LNWR 50’ arc roof carriages available at the Guild show at Kettering.  These have had limited availability before.

An all new design, the D216 Centre Brake 50’ composite will follow.

A warm thanks to all who came to the Gauge 0 Guild Kettering show and said 'Hello'.

We sold out of the initial batch of LNWR 50' carriages. A second batch is in production and will be available in June.

The prototype LNWR D216 50' Centre Brake Composite is now being assembled. All being well these will also be available at the Guild Doncaster show.

Development of the Belpaire boilered versions of the LNWR continues and the production etches are in the final stages of design. Grateful thanks is given to Adrian Rowland (the designer of the Prince of Wales and Experiment kits) for drawing up the new designs. Thanks also to Bob Lomax for doing the test build and preparing the instructions. Here is Bob's pre-production model.

I cannot believe how long it has been since I last posted here......

I now have two new knees which has made life much more comfortable. On the business side we now have the LNWR D216 50' arc roof centre brake composite in production. The initial batches sold out but more will be ready for the Guildford O gauge group show at Reading in December. A new batch of Belpaire boilered Prince of Wales locos will also be produced to compliment the Belpaire boilered Experiment and 19" Goods locos that are now available.

A new loco is under development the Webb LNWR/LMS/BR Coal Engine. This is designed by Adrian Rowland who produced the excellent Northstar range of vehicles. Expected availability is for the Gauge O Guild Kettering show.

A new tender design is also under development: the final variant of the LNWR Bowen Cooke 3500 gallon tender with the single bead coal rail. Again expected for Kettering.

Other new - or re-released - products are in hand.

There is a delay with production of the new Bowen Cooke tenders: a new master is being made as the first had some quality issues.

Dave has been hospitalised in Taiwan and will miss the Bristol show this weekend. Trisha will be there.

Again such a long time since I posted but there has been progress.

The test build of the revised design for the Coal Engine is substantially complete. Sorry that the picture isn't better quality and apologies too for all of the solder wash not yet cleaned up. The camera has a cruel eye! Dave is still stuck in Taiwan pending restoration of flights but we expect to have the kit (with Webb 1800 gallon tender) available in August.

We hope also then to have the new Bowen-Cooke tender in stock: just waiting on the resin casters to do a run.

Now for the unwelcome news! We regret that there will be a substantial rise in headline prices effective 1st July. We have decided to make prices inclusive of post and packing as most of our business is done that way. Including postage charges the actual rise is less than 2% and is the first increase since September 2018. We have had a bit of a run of some items so a number of loco kits are now out of stock. We will be happy to supply any kit that is presently out of stock at the old price (including free postage) on receipt of a £50 deposit. We will supply as soon as items are back in stock: likely end July.

Thank you,

David

It has been a long time since the last update!

Like other suppliers we are experiencing very long lead times for the supply of components, so restocking is taking a long time. We are trying to mitigate this by ordering larger quantities than usual, but the downside to this is that they take longer to produce.

The first batch of Coal Engines sold out but a second batch will be available in late December (Only one left unreserved) and a third batch on order.

We are still waiting on bodies for the final design of Bowen Cooke tender.

The LNWR D87 van has been a very long time in production. As soon as we have a set of assembly instructions we will be able to release them for sale.

I will be back in UK full time from Christmas and expect to be able to progress some other new designs.

Gladiator Models New Website

The new Gladiator website is about to go live! Addresses are the same as before so any existing links should lead you to the new site. The new site features a more user-friendly interface, better graphics, extra photos and some additional features. It shows stock levels and allows you to set an account, so your details are remembered between orders.

There are new sections for components of different types; these will be populated over the next few months. Instruction copies will be available for free download where we are permitted to do so. It will take us a little time to scan and upload these so please be patient.

As well as the existing payment interface with PayPal, which lets you use your PayPal account, credit card or debit card for payment, there are now options for payment by bank transfer or by cheque. If you select payment by bank transfer, your order will be reserved, put on hold and a reference given. You will still need to instruct your bank to make the transfer using the reference number and our account details. When payment is received, we will post the order. Similarly for payments by cheque: your purchase will be reserved until we have received the cheque and it has cleared. Our input costs are rising sharply, but we will try to hold current prices until after Guildex.

We have tried hard to test the site and de-bug it, but if you do find any broken links or strange behaviour, please let us know.

Thanks go to everyone who has provided photos for the site. We are still missing photos for some items and would be delighted if you can supply the missing ones.

The website addresses are:

Thank you!

We have decided that the range of GWR centenary coaches and super saloons is not a good fit with the rest of our range and we are seeking to sell these on to another supplier. If these are not bought we will take orders for a final run of kits to be produced early 2022.

Please let us know if you either want to acquire the range or wish to reserve for the final run.

Thank you.
