Smokebox Door: https://www.shapeways.com/product/CSN33C7SS/dean-goods-smokebox-door-4mm-oxford-rail (Mine was actually one with  built in number and shed plates)

And a Cambrian product - a buffer stop. This has actually been available for some time, but I have finally got the chance to build one up to photograph!

This uses correct Cambrian pattern chairs and is pictured here on 1.6mm 1/16th Ply sleepers. Requires cross beam, rod and sleepers to finish. Available from: https://www.shapeways.com/product/RKJUNGLJD/cambrian-railways-buffer-stop?optionId=61626659&li=shop-inventory

New Cambrian 2 Plank bodies from i.Materialise. These are to form the basis of a kit which I am putting together with printed brake gear (of the wooden shoe type) and buffer bodies, Etched W Irons and Sprung buffer heads. I am awaiting the remainder of the bits and then they will be available from stock. In the meantime, you can order the excellent quality bodies yourself from them direct: https://i.materialise.com/shop/item/cambrian-railways-2-plank-open-fixed-side-wagon-4mm-scale - choose standard or grey resin (1 of each is shown above).

That's the test kit built. Looks good right?

Further options are being added, Iron brake shoes with plain V hanger and lever and an option of a 3 plank body, and all the component pieces are being made available separately as well.

Currently the components are only available from the Shapeways/i.Materialise shops:

3 Plank body: https://www.shapeways.com/product/8ZT3ZE8QD/cambrian-railways-3-plank-open-body-4mm?optionId=61204011

2 Plank Body: https://www.shapeways.com/product/G84KY76BT/cambrian-railways-7t-2-plank-open-wagon-4mm-a?optionId=61079311

Brakes, Buffers & Axleboxes for Wooden brakes: https://www.shapeways.com/product/KET26XXW5/cambrian-railways-brakes-axleboxes-and-buffers-se

Iron ones to follow!

There is also a new 16mm NG Wagon: A Dinorwig Rubbish Wagon as a single piece 3D print with full rivet detail and axleboxes. A test print has been ordered, and it looks something like this in the software renders (trying out new software capability!):

Looks good Alan.

Could I ask for a little info on the 2-plank project please:

It's probably just me, but I'm not sure how the deposit would be paid? And just so I understand correctly, since the body is already available from your iMaterialise shop, I assume that the extras we get for signing up are the detailing parts?

Oops, I never added the product link! https://www.coastlinemodels.co.uk/product/cambrian-railways-2-plank-wagon-kit-wooden-brake-gear/

Yes, you get all the 3D printed parts, a set of W irons and the sprung buffer heads, though you'll have to fend for yourselves regarding couplings, wheels etc. It represents a substantial saving over buying the parts separately, but relies on a decent sized order on my end, hence the requirement of 20 orders or it won't go ahead, and buying separate parts will be the only alternative.

Hi,

Can you please give a time period for the use of wooden brake blocks and 'curly' V hangers, either here or on your web-site. It would help the decision making as I suspect these fittings were replaced by my modelling period. How long did the 2 and 3 plank wagons run for and were they absorbed by the GWR or scrapped?  Cheers Tony

Sorry Tony, but I don't posses that knowledge. Some 2 planks certainly made it to the GWR, I don't know of any 3 planks. Wooden braked 2 planks were still in traffic use after 1907, but how many and how long after I don't know. The only photo I have of a 3 plank is next to an NER van which bears the pre 1911 small initials in top left corner.

I will also be doing two variants of iron brake gear on the 2 plank, one the normal single side job with the narrow V hanger as modelled in the various 2 plank drop side kits, and one with the two sided both levers same end brake the Cambrian liked to use at the turn of the century.

Did anyone spot the omission on the Dinorwig Rubbish wagons? I did right after I posted, and after I'd ordered the test models!

Whilst correcting it I also made a few variants, so now we have Plain:

Just to update, the website is currently a building site after various updates to various bits of the website codes now no longer function in harmony. I'm currently changing it over to a new platform, it could take a long time so please bear with me, if you want to know anything about a product or purchase please contact me here.

There is a website again, but it's real basic - shipping is currently only available to the UK and there are only 3 groups of number plates available, more will be added as the stock is checked and input into the database. Links to ebay and Shapeways shops also added to keep the options open!

Right then - some important news. The Cambrian wagon 3Dprint/Etched kit plan has been dropped. There was insufficient interest, and in any case I've been unable to match the same deposit scheme functionality on the new website. So that means anyone who has paid a deposit will be getting refunded, if you haven't been refunded by Sunday the 14th, let me know!

Had a customer request last week about a new Chimney for the Bachmann 64xx, so I dulycreated one:

https://www.shapeways.com/product/D6EPMSHWM/Bachmann-64xx-class-replacement-chimney

Base will need to be filed down, it has been made 0.6mm thick to allow Brass/Bronze to be used, which comes out far better than the plastic prints.

Another bit of RTR detailing... GWR Sefety Valve for Belpaire fireboxes - particularly suitable for the Oxford Rail Dean Goods which has a truly terrible representation of the valves themselves!

https://www.shapeways.com/product/M84JLGVSS/gwr-dean-goods-safety-valve-oxford-rail-replaceme

Took a look at the Shapeways page and this component is ‘Raw Brass’. Does that mean it’s made of brass and not plastic?

Certainly is, and the finish is usually better than the traditional rough cast finish you get from traditional lost wax castings.

Hi.

Do you or any of your colleagues happen to have any assembly instructions for the Mercian Models SG20 Bishops Castle Rly. 'Carlisle' 0-6-0 loco.

I bought one some time ago but have lost the instructions. I am trying to locate a copy of them so that I can attempt to build it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The Bishops Castle/Mid Wales 0-6-0 is now in the hands of Sparkshot Custom Creations, I no longer have the free time to dedicate to many of my more complex projects. The hope is the cad so far can be utilised with some modifications to produce a fully 3D printed loco as per SCC's usual fare.

3D Prints from me on Sapeways now have a new shop address https://www.shapeways.com/shops/coastlinemodels however, shapeways are currently screwing around with prices and features. Consequentially, many things are yet to be made available again as I am having to make alterations to keep the prices down. Site bugs are also preventing some things from appearing correctly too, but things are being reintrouduced, starting with the 16mm Scale stuff.
