Tongue in cheek mode on

Any chance of a BR Green version?

To confirm what Dave from Hattons has advised, there are currently 4 BR Green versions of the 121 and 122 dmus planned by Dapol in their main 'oo' range. Two Class 121s in green, one with speed whiskers and one with small yellow panel, both with Western Region numbers. For the 122 there is similarly a whiskered and yellow panel versions, the whiskered version is a Western Region number and the small yellow panel is a Scottish Region number.

Oh dear wallet overload I can find a use for several of those, have to start being really nice to SWMBO and write a grovel letter to Santa.

Me to. I have 3 green versions on order, trouble is the GWR railcar from Dapol is progressing just ahead of the 121/122 development and I have one of those in BR crimson/cream on order as well. 'There may be trouble ahead, but while there's moonlight and music and love and romance, let's face the music and cower (dance)'

Dave, please ensure that Dapol get the colours right to your satisfaction, and that you can reject them if they get it wrong, as they showed a remarkable lack of care with many of the class 73 liveries.

Hi SRman,

We have carefully chosen the RAL numbers and Pantone colours to best represent the colours of the units.  These have been used as we know they can be reproduced in model form.  We will publicise the colour samples as we get them and ensure all colours are correct before committing to production.  The colour layouts have taken many hours each to produce using images of the exact units meaning they are as accurate as it is possible to make them.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi all,

We received the decorated sample for 4D-015-HAT01 this morning and, after a quick once over, we're pleased to share it with you.

Our limited edition Class 122 represents TDB975023, one of several Class 122s that became Route Learning units in the early/mid 1970s, with our chosen model being arguably the most well travelled, spending time working around the Western and Eastern regions before it ended up in the North West in the early 1990s. Over time, the unit gained a few depot embellishments including white tyres, buffer rims and "Thunderbird 1" naming. 975023 itself survives on in BR blue at the East Lancashire Railway but has reverted back to full passenger carrying duties as W55001.

We're impressed by the level of detail Dapol have managed to include, especially around the underframes and cab interior. We're happy with all of the colours with the exception of the yellow ends which are slightly lighter than they should be. however this will be corrected on the production versions to the more orange shade it should be.

As for the Class 121s, we haven't had a date for when decorated samples will be with us but based on the above, we're really keen to see them. The forthcoming liveries for these are available to view here.

Let us know what you think!

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Dave any chance of Hattons/Dapol making some spare Domino headcode panels from (part 15) 4D-009 Railtrack it would make my conversion of BR Blue/Blue/grey much easier if you could??
