dikitriki
Anyone fancy a Gauge 1 (1/32) original West Country? We're pursuing a number of avenues, and we have had enough initial interest in a 1/32 Bulleid light pacific to explore some proof of concept areas. Tender springs and axleboxes: Cab reworked for 1/32, already at the etchers. We're also looking at the 47xx etches. I'm not entirely sure the G1 fraternity is ready for a 1/32 Finney kit, but you never know...... Richard

dikitriki
Hello Neill, The GWR kits are not going to be available until next year. We have to make a few new masters and all the white metal castings needs new moulds, and this has slowed production up.We should have the M7, T3 and Adams' Radial available at Telford, even if we are packing them Saturday morning. The Bulleid Light Pacific and Duchess will be available before Christmas, with the LNER range being reintroduced shortly thereafter, including our new kit, the rebuilt W1 4-6-4. dikitriki
Hi, Just to let you know, we will have limited numbers of the M7, Adams Radial and T3 and tender available for Telford. If you wish to reserve one, contact me through the Finney7 web site or by PM. The Princess Coronation (Duchess) and Bulleid Light Pacific are due (hopefully) by November, and we will then turn our attention to the LNER part of the range, and the Broad Gauge Rover. We also propose making the Rover tender available as a separate kit. We have updated the web site and added the M7 instructions as a pdf. Do have a look at the new instructions in the Finney7 house style, a lot of work has gone into them. Richard
RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted August 16, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 16, 2016 Very impressive set of instructions for the M7. I suspect the old hands won't be that bothered but, to those starting out in kit building, to have clear instructions, photos and labelled parts us a big help. RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted August 16, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 16, 2016 PS I have my eye on a narrow cab T9 with watercart tender. Roughly how long do I have to save up?

Hi, We're unlikely to look at the T9 until next year, so up to 12 months I expect. Yours, Richard Lambert
dikitriki
Hi, Guildex at Telford was hard work but fun. Thank you everyone who came by to say hello. We much appreciated the goodwill - and not a little relief - that the range was getting back into production. Of our original production, we have one each of the T3, M7 and Adams Radial left, and 2 Adams 6 wheel tenders. We are now commencing production of the Bulleid Light Pacific for delivery at the Reading trade show in early December. We have been advised that the resin casing mould will do this one batch, so if you want a BLP now, reserve one! We are taking reservations with a deposit of £100 to secure one from this run - contact me via the website please. We will need to know what tender you want, or if you don't know, the name of your loco and the period modelled; we will then ensure you get the correct tender. We are also commencing production of the Broad Gauge Rover. This will be available in the middle of 2017. Again, a deposit of £100 secures one of the first batch. dikitriki
Hi, We've updated our website Finney7.co.uk and added some more instructions for those interested. Plenty of information, and not just for 7mm modellers either. There's lots of little detailing etches shown under 'sundries', the full range of SDMP gearboxes is now available, and there are just a few Bulleids left in the batch for the Reading trade show, Richard

dikitriki
Hi, We now have a huge pile of components for the Bulleid Light Pacifics, so packing will commence later this week. They will be available for collection at Reading, or posted beforehand, and I will be contacting all those who have paid a deposit for collection of the balance and to see what optional extras are required. We only have a handful of the pacifics unallocated, and only two 4500 gallon tenders left, so if you want one and haven't already ordered, now's your chance! The website http://finney7.co.uk/ has had a further update - more instructions added and extra components for the BLP. A reminder that any castings from the current production kits are available separately, though there will be a lead time of about 28 days, other than those mentioned on the website. We are also restocking the M7, Adams' Radial and T3 which should be available at Reading. The Princess Coronation is next off the blocks, hopefully for Bristol, and we will be working on a semi smokebox as an option. Hope to see you at Reading. dikitriki
H Richard, thanks for keeping us up to date. Any ideas about where the LNER stuff is in the queue? Hi Jeff, They are next, after the Princess Coronation. Again, we will have to have new whitemetal moulds made, and we expect to start the process in the New Year. We're aiming for Kettering, but no guarantees. Richard
JeffP
Not being funny, but why new whitemetal moulds? I always thought Finney whitemetal to be second to none. So what don't I understand?
dikitriki
Hi Jeff, Martin used Adrian Swain to cast his whitemetal. Adrian, apart from health issues, does not wish to continue casting, and his moulds are not usable by other casters. So, no option, but rest assured the white-metal castings are better than ever on the evidence of the work we have had done thus far. Richard
Horsetan
.... his moulds are not usable by other casters. ... Wasn't it something to do with them spinning in the opposite direction to most other casting machines? (EDIT: as I understood it, this was something that Brassmasters discovered when they took over the 4mm range, so new moulds had to be created that would spin in the direction that everyone else used....) JeffP
Thanks Richard. I wasn't aware of that. I'll make no comments about Mr Swain........
dikitriki
Hi,Last call for Bulleid Light Pacifics before Reading. We have only 3 left, and only 5500 gallon tenders remaining. The body casing mould is life-expired so it will be a while before they reappear. The new moulds for the Princess Coronation white-metal components are now being made, and we have produced a master for the Semi chimney.....bit of a giveaway that as to what is forthcoming.Richard
dikitriki
Hi, The Princess Coronation (Duchess) and tender is being packed - we are just awaiting delivery of the resin boiler and smokebox - so we are now taking deposits (£100) to secure one of the first batch. We have available now supplies of the first new kit - the Drummond boiler Adams' Radial - which has a new boiler, cab front, backhead, and new castings for the different cab and boiler fittings. We have restocked our ball-bearing gearboxes, and are quietly working on our 1/32 scale Bulleid Light Pacific. Still a long way away, but looking immense! RMweb Gold MarshLane Posted March 22, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 22, 2017 Hi Richard, This may be an 'off the wall' query that you say something along the lines of 'oh god don't mention it!' but are there any plans for a re-run of Martin's Broad Gauge kits - I can see 'Rover' is mentioned on the website, but not with any info or details and having had a quick look through this thread it appears not to have been mentioned at all? If so, is likely to be a 'one-off' run or available occasionally? It is a distant ambition - distant being the word at the moment - but one that I've always fancied as a display model for the cabinet ... course once its built it will be too nice to just display!
