It's nice to see that the top two are pre-grouping Southern steam, and third place was taken by a 21mm gauge GNR(I) loco.

And neither of the southern models in 4mm scale...

Interesting to see the contribution scratch building into these winners and not simply a straight kit build - a true reflection of the "Build-a-loco" Challenge. well deserved one and all.

Glad to see a couple that I voted for in the top 5. Very surprised I to come top. I thought there were better models.

I personally think everyone was a winner, I hope that many will go on and build more, as part of our lovely hobby

Could be that if you model Southern steam you need to build to get a true representation of the loco fleet.

For me I would build anyway.

Well done Pete! My fave all the way through!  Hearty congrats to all involved. It was good fun and brought out some excellent work for us all to see.

Looking forward to the next challenge.

Not entirely sure I'd agree; I thought the point was to judge the build, and I don't see what one's preferences for companies (or scales) has to do with it.  I concur with the placings; all excellent models.
