I'm in the planning stages of starting a new micro, like a lot of folks on here I have been seduced by the Dapol class 08 in 7mm. Went for the black early crest one, and I must say it's an excellent model. Probably won't start anything though until after Christmas. Regards Paul. Providing Yodel don't do their normal trick of travelling to Derby via Glasgow and the Outer Hebrides it should arrive today. The warwell is the oxford rail one, the tank is a Cromwell airfix kit, it's the first airfix kit I've made in years, really enjoyed putting it together. It means you could see what was in it without having to take the lid off, which is what I always end up doing with storage boxes. Agreed, this is a really clever design and great storage solution for a lovely bit of modelling, just a quick q, how do you get the layout out of the storage box, it looks a snug fit from the photos posted early on? Like City Goods this will be housed in a plastic box designed for wrapping paper. Although this time the entire board will be scenic, with a Peco loco lift used for the fiddle yard. The track is Peco Bullhead. The small station halt will be scratch built from coffee stirrers and the small goods shed will be made from a Wills kit. More to follow. Thanks for looking, regards Paul. This is my technique for painting them. First I use Humbrol grey primer. Then I paint over a small area with black paint, and before this is aloud to dry I wipe of with a cloth, this leaves paint in the groves. I then continue until the whole sheet is painted. Then finally I weather with powders. I used the same technique on the granite sets on my Cakebox entry Canal Side. Thanks for looking, more to follow. Regards Paul.
