TEAMYAKIMA
Twickenham & District MRC are actively trying to promote D&E modelling within the club The TDMRC committee have allocated funds and storage space to build a OO gauge D&E layout (approx 23ft x 10ft). The 14 road fiddle yard and curved entry boards already exist so all the embryonic D&E group need to build is the 15ft scenic section to drop in. We are promoting D&E modelling at our forthcoming July 23rd Open Day, but we lack a working D&E layout from our existing membership. Do YOU own a small, easily transported OO D&E layout you could bring along to help promote D&E modelling? See www.tdmrc.org.uk for details of our Open Day and please send me a PM if you have a small D&E layout you could bring along. Thanks Edited January 17, 2017 by TEAMYAKIMA
WCML100
If your interested in joining the club, its a great opportunity to come down and see what we are all about. We are currently on the look out for some modern image modellers as there a few more needed to kick start this new project of a contemporary layout (mentioned above). The details you need to know are in this video below. It features some of the layouts at the club as a taster of what you can expect on the open day. Myself and my younger brother will be running a modern image stand to help encourage some modern image modellers to join the club but if you live locally please come down and have a look... If you would like to know more please feel free to PM me and i will be happy to have a chat with anyone. There will also be displays of plans available for the potential layouts. There are three sets of plans and all have a west London theme to reflect the clubs loaction. Once we get to the open day these plans will be broadcasted in more depth. TEAMYAKIMA
TDMRC's D&E group is now up and running (not literally! Yet!!) - but layout building begins NOW! D&E modellers said 'If you build it, we will come.' (with apologies to the scriptwriters of the Holywood film FIELD OF DREAMS) .... Well TDMRC is building its 'field of dreams' ... will YOU come and join us?
TEAMYAKIMA
Whilst Twickenham MRC is building a dedicated OO gauge D&E layout - see the EASTGATE thread on Rmweb - that doesn't mean that D&E interest is confined to 4mm - there's some 7mm too! TEAMYAKIMA
At last year's Twickenham MRC Open Day the club advertised for D&E modellers to join the club so that we could start a D&E group and start building a layout. We succeded in attracting enough interested members to start building a D&E layout and so at this year's Twickenham MRC Open Day we will be giving visitors a glimpse of progress so far on our new OO gauge D&E layout EASTGATE. TEAMYAKIMA
Good news!! Our OO gauge Diesel & Electric layout (Eastgate) is making such good progress that it will be running (in basic form) at our Open Day on July 22nd. This means that there will be SIX working layouts on display as well as demos/displays, a s/h stand and refreshments . Not bad for a free Open Day - donations welcome! TEAMYAKIMA
I just thought that I would report that Twickenham & District MRC's D&E layout is going from strength to strength - it's small at the moment but the club hopes to attract more D&E modellers and expand the layout in the future. This is the last photo I have - taken in October last year........... I can't visit the club at the moment due to work commitments and so I hope that others can post some more up-to-date photos. Peter and Ben - over to you! Edited January 19, 2018 by TEAMYAKIMA
