........This Sunday 17th July at Hopeman as part of the Gala. so if you are in northgern Scotland on the southern side of the Moray Firth Coast, and are suffering with a lack of something to do, please come along and see us. For those who haven't a clue as to what I'm mumbling on about,  http://rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=29306&start=0&hilit=ingleferry+wharf  . It has been sat in its shoe-box for far too long, and would appreciate some run-time

Pictures from Hopeman

Had a lot of interest, especially when I explained about it packing away into the shoebox - to the extent that two people came back as we were closing, to see it being dismantled and packed away. Not sure that I couldn't have displayed it being assembled and dismantled and never run a train!  The layout ran well most of the time apart from suddenly going dead, mid-move on a couple of occasions. I have traced this down this morning to a semi-connected wire making intermittent contact in a plug.

I see that you added another building. The port is growing. I love that 45 tonner in the scene.

Actually, Mike, I have added another baseboard (dock) section and two buildings - to make it a bit longer for exhibiting - I have to admit that the extra board doesn't fit into the shoebox. There are now three warehouses and Acme Distribution. You can't see her in the photos, but there is a secretary in Acme Distribution looking out of the window. Thanks for the comments - for a layout that has been sitting in a (shoe)box since 2008 it actually worked well. I do need to make it a new "sea" board - this one is too narrow and I had to fix the tug to the end of the barge instead of the side.

[ EDIT] Went out to the garage and discovered a suitable lightweight board - shorter, but wider, allowing River Lady to be in her proper place - and some more of the blue plastic -  which originally wrapped my metal shed roof whilst in transit from the manufacturers. Stapled it onto the board, and then screwed the board to the ironing-board base - it now weighs much less - a good thing - but I don't know when the layout will see the light of day again!
