Much appreciated Colin, thanks.

Great to know that there's others out there that have a love for the Southern region and all that has run on it :)

If you have Twitter, have a look @NSE_Latchmere - we gave it a test run for the first time and posted the vids which i can't show on here unfortunately.

Stunning modelling, well done!

Thanks mate, really appreciate it.

If you can, please check @NSE_Latchmere on Twitter where we've posted videos from the first test run.

It was down but pinged up mid-run (need to secure better in future). Fortunately, we didn't suffer any damage, just pride :)

Hi Not the first time a 319 has lost a pan!  In the day a driver nearish to Brighton wondered if he pushed pan up ! Well he could not lower it so breaking the golden rule of being  able to get out of a cxxk up. An overbridge did the honours.  I recall a mod but clearly still not entirely fault or fool proof !

No way! I can only imagine some of the stories that come out of drivers regarding such scenarios. It's not just pantographs either, I do recall in Clapham yard a 4VEP pick-up shoe pinging across the sidings having got caught in error. I feel a collective book of driver stories is needed here! :D

So pleased with my last 3 builds that I'm starting my new one for 2018.

Building the Class 313 that is sold on eBay in component parts. 313201 looks awesome in its retro Blue Grey livery but ive decided to model it in its original NSE livery that it carried as 313001 on the penultimate final Broad Street North London Line service. It's a great looking unit so I fancy a new challenge. Parts available are the body sides, ends and cabs so far so I've received my order and I'm ready to go.

I've started by doing all the awkward bits that I struggle to do when working with a complete bodyshell like drilling out light fittings from the inside and prepping for handrails.

The body comes together easy enough and as the sides are in 3 parts so you can build the alternative class 314, 315, 507 and 508, there is some organisation to do. Once fixed I have had got some filling and sanding to do but it all comes together quite nicely.

These look rather nice. Great work.

That 313 is starting to look good. I have so far only aqcuired a solitary cab, but intend to build a 507/8 and a solitary 313 pantograph car (to go with 3 cars of 457001 which will make it 316999, though the cabs would be different too ).

The seller is a DEMU member and has recently posted that more parts for the 313 pantograph car are now on eBay.

That's an awesome unit to build. I very much hope to build it in its original guise as 210 001 at some point. Thanks for the update on the eBay listings, I have one on order so hope to progress with that coach soon. I'm working on the two DMSOs at present so hope to start on the centre coach soon.

Post some pics of your 316 999 and 507 when you get started, I'd luv to see them.

Looking forward to seeing the finished unit.

Can I ask whether you intend to put any videos of your units on youtube?

Thanks, I have my 4REP & 4TC on there under "Bournemouth Express". It was uploaded by my colleague who hosts the Twitter page for NSE_Latchmere

You can see some of my stuff posted on there with my colleagues.

I should post more on YouTube tbh as its easier now. Note to self...

Thanks Danny. It will need parts from Bratchell (sides, roof, ends, etc) and a custom etched cab/windows/doors as these are all different on the 457001 unit (I thankfully managed to get a number of close up detail photos of the remaining car 67300 at the ERM). It is kinda on hold atm, as I am lacking funds to get the parts needed. I expect I'll buy bits gradually to build up a collection of what I need (I expect I'll need 3 sets as there was a second test unit which tested the GEC equipment (457001 tested Brush equipment)).

As for the 507/508, I'll gradually acquire parts again over time. I am thinking of doing a model of the translator set T7, which used two 507/508 end cars painted green. Again funds are too tight to progress much with these units atm.

What search do you use on ebay to find the parts please

The seller's ebay page is here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/rubyrocco76/m.html?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEFSXS%3AMESOI&_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2654

The seller has a thread on rmweb as well about progress on the parts.

Wow you have some major projects going on there. I'm not so good at progressing too many things at once. I have the 313 at present alongside the 5WES upgrade and that's it for now. I also have the 6TC in departmental livery to do afterwards but that keeps getting pushed back. That will probably be my lot for 2018 unless my workload changes. I know what you mean though, it's all subject to finances, lol!!!

More a case of those being researched atm than anything else. Not done any modelling since November really.

I usually have several things on going so I can switch between them when the need arises.

You've made re-painting into NSE livery look easy. I tried it once & it looked dreadful. I keep meaning to have another go one day.

Thanks mate. Tbh, I've painted a few things into it now so I'm a bit more polished I guess. You should see the shoebox of cast offs from my earlier attempts haha...

So it's been a busy day but I've managed to achieve quite a bit. First up, I've built the bogies for the two DMSOs using Lima Class 156 bogies and adapting them to suit. Using Hornby Class 466 shoebeams and Hornby Class 153 Speedometer, they look pretty good.

post-20061-0-36515800-1517594883_thumb.jpg

I've built an underframes from plasticard which will hide all the wiring for lighting and enable me to install the interior. It's had filling and sanding so my apologies, it's looking a little stressed.

post-20061-0-78914100-1517594781_thumb.jpg

I've mounted the first DMSO onto the underframe and set up the bogies too so it's now ready for running tests.

post-20061-0-93946600-1517594957_thumb.jpg

Here it is alongside it's North London Line predecessor just to check the heights and gauging.

post-20061-0-68233300-1517594656_thumb.jpg

Cracking on with DMSO2 while I prepare it for priming and undercarriage components.
