RMweb Premium NCB Posted November 7, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 7, 2016 Official Cambrian pics of covered vans and goods brake vans up to 1915 seem to show the use of shaded lettering. However, I've seen it widely suggested that this was only done for the pics and that in general service they were plain white. Any ideas if there's any sort of consensus on this? RMweb Premium NCB Posted November 17, 2016 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 17, 2016 Latest info I've come across is Great Western Way, which states white for brake vans, which will do me. Re brake vans, have just come across a question re the size of the lettering. It seems to be generally assumed that the main CAM <feathers> RYS bit is larger than that used on most other vehicles. However, I've been correcting perspective on the well-known pic of brake van number 2, and it seems to come out at the same size as those used on 2/4 plank wagons. Peculiar. Any thoughts?
