There are pitfalls along the way - not least the misplaced splashers that won't really accomodate scale diameter wheels. Regards, John Isherwood. jrg1 Posted June 19, 2017 Share Posted June 19, 2017 David Jenkinson devised a method for making splashers. A blind hole, the external diameter of the splasher, was drilled with a brace and bit in a piece of wood, at least as deep as the splasher width. A piece of brass strip (Splasher width was then rolled to a slightly larger diameter and fitted into the jig. The splasher itself was filed to shape and butted against the strip, and soldered, then trimmed. Two could be fabricated at once, avoiding the strip join.
