lofty1966
This is why you should never give Viagra to Hornby Colletts. Just the interior to do but I can't find the "spare one" grrrr (yet again) It should really be on 6 wheel bogies but as I don't have any , they'll have to come later.

lofty1966
This is NOT cricket Lofty! I do hope it is only temporarily suspended at worst! Khris Due to “wife” filing bogus assault charge , I am evicted from my home with no contact order with my youngest son.I am effectively of no fixed address and all my Railway collection (about $20k worth) is at the house. I am not allowed to remove it. The legal system here stinks !

scratcher
I'm in the middle of upgrading the Hornby GW H33 restaurant coach as has been done by several of you on this thread. Using a new Hornby Collett underframe and ends; the sides, roof and interior are from the original. I have some questions on the interior detail. If I've missed earlier posts that answered some of the questions I apologise (I did trawl the thread before posting, honestly . Questions all relate to the condition before the 1939 refurb when they got the larger sunshine windows. - Curtains. Did they have curtains before the 1939 refurb (the photo in GW Coaches Appendix Vol 2 is post refurb)? If so, first or both, and what colours? - Seat colours for first and third? There's some info in GWCA V2 but nothing specifically about the H33. - Did third have table cloths or was it just first? - Colour of lamp shades in first? Thanks Steve

scratcher
Would like to see some pics of this conversion if you have time please. Yes I will post some as it progresses. The underframe just needed the gas cylinders plus a third smaller battery box, and is pretty much done. Next step is to try and cut the ends from the new Collett to replace the (detachable) originals which just don't look right. The profile isn't quite the same though ... In parallel I'll sort out the interior, hence the questions above. Using SE Finecast flush glazing for the main windows.
TheGunslinger
The legal system here stinks ! Much the same here in AU. Unfortunately you're looking at a long uphill battle and this will probably be the hardest thing you have ever gone through. You will question if there ever was such thing as "fair" and the courts will bleed you to the bone. I don't know the legal system over there so I can't advise on that front, but I'd have a poke around online and see if there are any men's support groups local to you. You are not alone through all this and there are men who have gone through the same BS who can provide advice on your best course of action, your options in regards to contesting the assault charge, how you can legally get your property back (and what she can and can't do with it) etc. More importantly there will be plenty of men who can advise on the dos and don'ts of any potential custody dispute, and how best to handle that situation so that she can't lock your son out of your life. Best of luck mate.
lofty1966
Tried again to get my collection today only to discover she has removed all of it along with my diecast aircraft collection , my Hi Fi and last four totes of my cd’s into “secure storage” Once again Plod not interested ! Civil matter apparently despite about $4000 worth being purchased since she wanted a divorce, which in my book is theft !

Is that not a euphemism for "dumped in landfill"? In which case, is there not an offence of criminal damage as well as theft?

lofty1966
I managed to salvage what was left of my collection after the Ex took/stole 99.9% of it into storage. Some ragtag half finished kits and some Collett bodyshells and chassis. Was shocked to find the 70ft Restaurant coach that was missing the interior sat still wrapped in tissue paper sat on my old work bench! Sooooo....without further ado I had the required parts to finish !

kandc_au
The D95 is screaming out for the guards compartment to be "corrected" Lol Can you elaborate? From what I can see from the drawings and pics it appears to be correct! Just had another look.....wouldn't be a missing window per chance? khris Edited September 18, 2018 by kandc_au
lofty1966
Compartment side the guards first window should be a door. Where the door window is should be blanked/solid.
