relaxinghobby
I've just acquired this loco, hopefully a bargain. I am trying to get the body shell off for maintenance and repairs. It's the earlier split chassis version. I found and removed a fixing screw at the back but it's still attached at the front in the smoke box saddle area. No sign of any fixing screw there. Any ideas? relaxinghobby
Thanks 298 for the link to Bachmanns parts sheet. It indicates one screw at B, that is the one and only body fixing screw, I hunted around for others and after twisting the body shell found it came off by levering just ahead of the moulded on air cylinders under the front of the footplate, directly below the back of the chimney. Two holes fit over two little ears protruding from the chassis block at A.
