If anyone is interested, I wrote a pair of articles recalling the history of 37099 for the Class 37 Locomotive Group's quarterly magazine 'Syphon'.

Parts 1 and 2 featured in editions 165 and 166 respectively and these are available from our online shop at http://www.c37lg.co.uk/shopmain.aspx?category=syphon

Cheers

Just a heads up, Bachmann are looking at a June 2018 retail release for this Colas 37 even though it isn't listed in their 2018 Catalogue.

Maybe because it's a late running 2017 item..............

Maybe, still there are quite a few late running 2017 items which have also re-appeared in the 2018 catalogue thus a bit strange this one didn't appear again as well as the Colas Class 70 considering these will probably be high volume sellers.

Anyway both pre-ordered and looking forward to getting them sometime this year.

Edit: Funny fact, the Colas 70 is listed in the 2015 Catalogue thus had forgotten it was this long in the making.

Saw the loco in the loadbank area at BH last week, & was told it had been seen ticking over a couple of days before, so shouldn't be long before it's out & about. :)  :)

Cheers,

Phil.

Indeed, a photo of it on the load bank appeared on WNXX last week

Might be 37521 though?

Most recent info suggests 099 will be out before 521, 025 went to Barrow Hill on Monday with 37607 where it will be kept as a reserve for test duties. 37611 due to go off lease by the end of Feb too.

(But as always, usual t/c thing can change quickly but 099 is due to return within weeks)

I’ve got a ballast job to Aberystwyth this weekend and it involves all 4 class 97s one of which can’t be used in ERTMS mode so it will be ‘buried’ within the train consist to get to and from site and be used within the site where ERTMS isn’t switched on

Just been doing a bit of phoning around to se if it’s possible to switch out the 97 with 37099 instead to see if we could get it to Aberystwyth as challenged when it was named!

Unfortunately it’s not looking like it’s possible due to 099 not arriving back into derby until Saturday morning but i’ll keep trying!!

Glad to see Merl is up and running again :)  Saw it parked up at Barrow Hill in a long line of decrepit machines in December on my way back from Warley and feared the worst.

1Q83 today at Hellifield.

37421 is on the rear.

Looks great!

We're a week behind everyone else due to our annual summer shutdown.

Can't wait to get our hands on it, and out to those of you that have preordered it from us, and the balance on the shelves by the middle of next week hopefully.

I have a feeling demand for this one will far outstrip the total production run!
