scratcher
I have recently sold a Jouef TGV train set from the 1980s for my cousin. It's the orange Rame 16 set with 2 power cars and 2 articulated coaches sharing a common bogie. I've come to package everything up but I can't figure out how to uncouple the articulated coaches. They were separate when I took them off my cousin, so I clicked them together - the plastic clips seemed a bit stiff but the set had not been used for over 20 years. Now I can't get them apart, and don't want to force in case I break something. Ideas? RMweb Premium Andy Hayter Posted December 17, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 17, 2016 Not familiar with this particular Jouef set, but generally it needs a good hard yank to separate the coaches. I have always feared breaking something, but so far that has not happened.
scratcher
This should make things a bit clearer. I have tried pinching the two prongs of the grey plastic link but I can't get the purchase. And I can't believe that is the only way to get it apart. RMweb Premium njee20 Posted December 18, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 18, 2016 The Jouef TGVs I've had all clipped in on the centre of the articulated bogie, that looks like the clip that holds the bogie 'captive' to the remaining coach once it's uncoupled. Should just need a sharp pull.
scratcher
You are right @njee20 my picture is the wrong end of the clip. The other end clips onto the articulated bogie. Each coach has one, at different heights. After a bit of WD-40 they it eventually all came apart. Thanks.
