SparxD428
Hi All, I have hard wired DCC decoders in to a few of my older Lima loco's without any issues. I am thinking of hard wiring an 8 pin DCC decoder in to a Replica Railways version of a Class 45 which has the forward directional lights. Has anybody done this successfully at all and if so do you have any description/wiring diagram? I am sure I will figure it out for myself but hoping someone could help. Thanks, Stu. SparxD428
It's OK, I have managed to work out what wire were going where (including extra pickups) and got her running. Strange thing is it only runs in one direction (reverse). Refuses to budge going forward. I noticed a pin on the chip was slightly bent so not sure whether this is cause, I guess i could quickly reverse orange/grey wires to prove, but for now not too bothered. Happy to have got the directional lighting working in this old machine.
